Dr. Ryu is very professional and has a great bedside manner. He took the time and listened to my concerns and answered all my questions. He’s very knowledgeable and put my mind at ease. Office is well run and staff are professional. Highly recommend him.

In 2018 I had the life-changing good fortune of being treated by Dr. Hyung Ryu at Mercy Medical Center. Dr. Ryu quickly determined what a lifetime of doctors had failed to – that I had Stage 4 Endometriosis which required a bilateral ovarian cystectomy as well as the removal of endometriosis lesions, which were later found to have spread quite extensively. Dr. Ryu was open, honest, and informative throughout the entire process. We spoke in his office after each exam, rather than in the exam room itself, which I appreciated as it never felt rushed or forced. He explained that there was no way to determine the severity until the actual procedure was underway, nor could the exact surgical outcome be predicted in advance. He empathetically explained that the cysts were so encompassing they would undoubtedly impact plans for pregnancy. He walked me through every possibility and encouraged questions. We moved forward with the surgery and my recovery was exactly everything he had prepared me for. A few weeks later I had two barely visible incision scars and was rid of the pain I’d been living with for twenty+ years. A few more weeks later, I became pregnant with what would be a healthy baby girl. Four years later, we now have two healthy little girls who we know would never have been possible with Dr. Ryu’s incredible knowledge, empathy, and skillset. There is no one I’d recommend above Dr. Hyung Ryu for women searching for a doctor in this field. While outcomes can never be predicted, Dr. Ryu will do everything he can for you.

I had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Ryu Friday. Unfortunately not under good circumstances but I must say that all of the reviews and personal experiences of others were correct. He was so gentle with my complicated issue. He showed major sympathy for my brother and I and took his time explaining things and left room for questions. He was very kind to us and I just wanted to leave a review to at least show my appreciation for him. I know that I am in great hands. Thank you Dr. Ryu. 💖 Oh and his assistant was adorable. She hugged me tight as I sobbed in her arms while getting dressed and got me some water. I love Mercy hospital.

Dr. Ryu has been gynecological oncologist for the last 17 months. I have always felt comfortable with the his expertise in this field. I appreciate how he takes the time to explain things to me. I highly recommend him.
