There’s no way around it: IVF is hard. Its scary, complicated and there are a lot of risks. Im very lucky that my IVF journey was positive, thanks to my great experience at Kofinas Fertility Group. They were recommended to me by a friend and Im so glad I took their advice. We received exceptional care from beginning to end. Dr. Harry was fantastic and really helped alleviate any anxieties. He was upfront and honest, which we appreciated, and his approach clearly worked because we were successful in getting pregnant! The reception staff and nurses in Brooklyn were incredibly supportive and made us feel so valued. It was evident that they genuinely shared in our excitement and were just as invested in our journey as we were. I highly recommend Dr. Harry and Kofinas!

Doctor Harry at Kofinas fertility group is the absolute best of the best! There is nobody more patient/ kind/ understanding / determined to help at all costs. Doctor Harry knows exactly what to say to ease my nerves, is quick to respond and communication is always open. He has never hesitated or dismissed my questions or concerns. I was diagnosed with adenomyosis and a paratubal cyst via MRI through a small clinic. I knew I would need the cyst surgically removed because it had been around for about 4 years. I was turning 31 so I was concerned about possibly having endometriosis and potential infertility. My neighbor had been through a similar experience and recommended Kofinas, where shed had surgery for endo and conceived 6 months later.We did fertility testing with Kofinas which assured me that my eggs were healthy and plentiful. I also had the surgery with Kofinas where I was officially diagnosed with endo, it was excised, and they removed the cyst and some polyps. Even though recovery was rough for me, the surgery ended the continuous infections and bleeding I was having. I was also very happy with their availability because they perform surgeries 2 days per week and I did not have to wait long to get surgery. The surgeon also had more than 20 years of experience. I am not sure if they are considered top experts in excision but they definitely solved the problems that were interfering with my ability to live a normal life.Now, 7 months later, and I am 7 weeks pregnant! I believe this is not only because of the surgery but because they recommended a lot of fertility supplements for both me and my husband.The only real complaint I have is that the surgeon was covered but not the anesthesiologist, which was not something I was on the lookout for. So, care has costed more than expected. But on the flip side I conceived naturally which obviously saved a lot of money.If I had not been in an urgent situation I may have sought out another provider that was more thorough about explaining, investigating, and planning the costs. After surgery with Kofinas I was going to do egg retrieval with Spring Fertility because they had a ton of online resources on the costs, and they introduced a cost coordinator in the first in-person consultation meeting which I really liked. It felt higher touch and open-eyed financially. I was confident Kofinas would do a good job with egg retrieval itself but based on my financial experience with surgery at Kofinas, it wasnt something I wanted to repeat with a large investment like egg retrieval and making embryos.

Dr. Chatzicharalampous at Kofinas is just an amazing doctor. He is knowledgeable, compassionate and most importantly engaged. He answers all emails and phone calls on a timely fashion. Our relationship with my treatment is a well respected collaboration where I feel heard and taken seriously. Kofinas is a state of the art facility that does not over look anything. In fertility treatment and reproductive endocrinology is critical to no over look any possibilities. I wasted a lot of time and money going to the wrong doctors. Their surgical facilities are also top of the line. They do not do retrievals and transfer in a closet side room with everyone wearing perfume that can harm eggs and embryos like other NYC fert clinics. At Kofinas, you know all cautions are taken to provide the best conditions for your treatments to be successful. Are they a bit price than other clinics? yes! I can’t say enough how grateful I am for their support in my journey to conceiving. While I did not require IVF, their treatment in addressing my concerns led me to my goal of being a mom today. Big thanks to Dr. Charalampos, a.k.a Dr.C. Who was my doctor. He is amazing! The best doctor I’ve had EVER! We came up with a plan together, and I was aware each step of the way of what was happening. Dr. C was attentive and responsive in answering all my questions and prompt with replying when I would send an email of concern. I felt safe and trusting of the process and currently, my husband and I are preparing to give birth to the best gift I could ever receive, a sweet baby girl! All cost were explained upfront and prior consent before proceeding for anything was always given. My insurance was accepted and the only responsibility I had was my copay, and anything my insurance did not cover, which again was always explained ahead of time. The cost was reasonable for the care received and totally worth it. I can only speak to my experience, and I’m grateful I was referred to Kofinas by FemGyn. I highly recommend Kofinas Brooklyn. All staff were very caring and kind, from the front desk, to the doctors, nurses and nurses assistants. It was all worth it, and an investment in myself. Thank you Kofinas!

My wife and I used Kofinas for IVF. Two donar eggs were used. Currently I will not disclose the issue and give Kofinas an opportunity to help reduce the burden this has and will continue to have.- Robert Scognamillo

I began at Kofinas with Dr. Harry in November 2022. I chose the practice because they were close to my work (for ease of monitoring visits) and they were on my insurance. After two unsuccessful IUI, we were ready to move to IVF. Imagine my surprise when I was told that each IVF retrieval cycle would run me $12,500 even though I had complete insurance coverage for IVF. Turns out, their surgical center is not in-network with ANY insurance. None. I then found out that for months, Kofinas had been charging me my $60 co-pay, but my insurance was assessing my portion on the EOBs at just over $40/visit.I switched clinics in April 2023 (and ended up only paying for PGT-A testing out of pocket - I spent max $2,800 on a complete round of IVF - meds, retrieval, and transfer), had a successful IVF cycle, and have spent the last 10 months fighting with Kofinas billing department to get the $300 of overpayment due back to me. Im looking forward to seeing what comes first - the birth of the child Im pregnant with from a successful transfer at different clinic in July 2023, or actually receiving this check in the mail with my refund from Kofinas.I regret ever even starting here. The space is nice, I trust that Dr. Harry is a leading expert in his field, but at what cost (financially and emotionally)? I might recommend this place if you have unlimited funds at your disposal and love waiting 2 hours for a monitoring visit on a random Thursday because Dr. Harry showed up 30 mins late that morning.Oh, and my husband had an SA done in 2022. He paid cash on-site, as he had no fertility coverage on his insurance. To this day we receive random bills to a person with a different first name (same last name) for an SA done the same day. Weve called the office 5 times to resolve it, but we just got another one in the mail yesterday. I hope this person enjoys going to collections since no one can bother to fix their error.This place is a MESS. Avoid.

I started with Dr. Kofinas when he only had the Brooklyn location over 30 years ago. Of course, I was happy because it worked for us! Our son was born 1993 and weighed in over 10 pounds! He is now 30 years old and a successful lawyer. The office was compassionate, professional and caring even back then. I am so happy to see the office has grown and I am sure has helped many achieve their goals of having a baby. I was so skeptical about traveling from Eastern Long Island into Brooklyn but we made the commitment to for every opportunity to have a baby. I am so tankful and grateful for the office and I hope he continues to help others.

I read the great reviews of Kofinas plus they were recommended by my GYN. My husband scheduled a semen analysis and he did it back in November’22. Till today my provider is yet to receive the results. When I called for the results I was told it went to a different provider that was not on the referral a provider I don’t even know. I provided the correct provider information and fax number and was told it would be faxed. My provider never received it. I called back and spoke with ‘Andrea’, provided the information again and was told it would be faxed once again. My provider even reached out to Kofinas for the results and was told it would be faxed. To date, we have not received the results. This is very disappointing and disheartening to me and my husband because of the sensitivity of the test. I would think that Kofinas would understand what people who seek their services are going through mentally and physically and would provide the best care and patient experience. I am not happy with the services I received from Kofinas and would not recommend. :(

My partner and I worked with Dr. Chatzicharalampous for a year to complete three egg retrievals and an implantation. He’s a kind soul and though it could be frustrating at times to manage a year long medical program, we got pregnant on our first implantation and I’m now 15 weeks pregnant. The IVF industry is still pretty new and could be improved but the Kofinas doctors and staff are very professional and good at what they do. They are well researched and run a great office. They feel like family at this point. Can’t wait to introduce them to junior. Very grateful for them.

We cant see enough good things about Dr. (Harry) Chatzicharalampous. We wish he could be our doctor in all aspects of life. Not only is he kind and gentle, but he is truly knowledgable and exceptionally well-versed in the IVF journey. Thanks to him, we now have our very own miracle baby who just means the world to us. Dr. Chatzicharalampous aka Dr Harry was the best thing to happen to my family and I. I went un diagnosed for years with several fertility issues and within moments of talking to me, he had a good idea of what I would need and how to treat me. Working together with his team and my insurance my treatment plan for IUI was covered. First things first prior to being diagnoised, he discussed a specific plan for me which included vitamins, diets and over health while we tested. Once I was diagnosed, I was able to begin treatments and I was fortunate enough to conceive with my 2nd cycle. Dr Harry called me himself to deliver my good news and was there very step of the way until we parted ways after my pregnancy was secure. He was truly a blessing and such a gem to work with. I now have my baby boy and I feel it is in large part to him. Thank you for all that you do.

Dr. Hari is the best at what he does. Hes very knowledgeable and offers top care for his patients. Wait times in the monitoring hours can be long, so get the early to avoid any crowd. You will not regret seeing the team at the Brooklyn location. Everyone is committed to seeing your journey be a success. Dr. Hari helped identify endometriosis prior to beginning my ivf process. The fertility process is a difficult one, so it’s so important to have doctors, nurses and staff at a facility that are caring, personable, friendly and invested in you as a person. You really need to be more than a cog to them. The whole team shares with you in the pain of loss and the joys of success. I cannot express enough how important it is to have that type of support.Everyone at Kofinas in general, but I want to specifically mention the Brooklyn office, has been wonderful!!! I felt listen to, and that Dr. Chatzicharalampous made a tailored fertility plan that was best for me and my family. And o know they will do the same for you!

Had a wonderful experience with the Kofinas fertitily team. Walking into my very first appointment, which was at their Brooklyn office, I was full of anxiety but I walked out feeling at ease! I met with Dr. Chatzicharalampous (Dr. C) who was amazing! He sat down with me and allowed me to express all my concerns and symptoms. He set me up with a series of tests and took the time to explain each one and the reasons in a way that was easy to understand. He then reviewed each result one by one with me and helped me make the best decision about my fibroid issue. I had surgery at their Manhattan surgical center with Dr. Narine who was also so caring, patient, and took the time to explain everything in an easy-to-understand way!I followed up with Dr C. again in the Brooklyn office and he sat with me to review all my post-op reports and answered all my questions. Through this whole experience he has been so patient, thorough, and compassionate and I was very impressed by how knowledgeable and skilled he is.All the staff at the office are so caring, welcoming, and accommodating!!! Everyone I encountered was so kind and helpful!!!I’m so grateful for this team and the amazing knowledge, skill, and compassion they have! I have so much trust in them! I’m currently one week post egg retrieval, and in recovery after a super successful egg freezing process. I couldn’t be more grateful to Dr. C and the entire Kofinas staff.! The process has been a personal and challenging one, yet the Kofinas team made it as enjoyable and comfortable as possible as a single woman going through egg freezing.Facility:Extremely clean, modern and efficientWaiting room:Downstairs, and open hours for monitoring from 7-9am. I went every other day during the actual egg freezing process. I never really waited longer than 5-10 minutes- except perhaps one Saturday at the fidi location (but I went late a little past 9am, so it’s my fault).Dr. C:His calm demeanor and warm bedside manner kept me grounded and informed the entire time. I truly couldn’t have asked for a better doctor from consult, to prep, to the actual freeing process and recovery. He has been accessible during office visits, via email and has called to check in post procedure. I’m so grateful for his patience and care!Nurses/assistants:Excellent at drawing blood (so many other medical practices have had trouble/needed to try multiple attempts) quickly, and gave great injection instructions every visit. In the beginning, they were even nice enough to inject my morning hormones for me if I brought them in with me.Insurance:They worked with both my insurance, Aetna and Progyny to help me get maximum coverage my employer provided.It was even bittersweet to go to my last check in, but thank you, thank you for everything!I am referring all my friends/coworkers constantly.

Because the whole process is complicated when I was going there I thought that was how it had to be. Then I did another cycle somewhere else in the city, and moved and did another and realized it doesn’t need to be that way. I had my worst outcomes by far, most cumbersome and stressful experience. Their system is set up for max billing opportunities and not best outcomes for the patient. Although I had full coverage insurance multiple times they tried to get me to pay for certain things separately up front instead of billing insurance and when I challenged this they told me they were generously giving it to me for free. Luckily my insurance was so helpful but nonetheless dealing with these schemes added a lot of unnecessary administration and stress. They require you to douche and threaten to cancel your procedure if you don’t. Because it is so unpleasant I asked the other clinics about it and none concurred it was useful nor understand why it would be necessary. I understand every clinic has their own approach and because there is already so much at stake with fertility, personally I would have preferred less snake oil.

Dr. Chatzicharalampous is the best! I would recommend him to anyone seeking fertility treatments. His direct but compassionate approach is exactly what I was seeking in a fertility doctor. He treats you as an equal, listens attentively to your concerns, and makes you feel like you are with him every step of the way during an overwhelming and stressful process. The hardest part of IVF is the sense that you have no control and his approach and accessibility makes you feel like you do. He has a great bedside manner and sense of humor that brings levity to something that is anything but funny at times. We did 2 FETs and 2 IUIs with him; one IUI resulted in a miscarriage and the 2nd FET resulted in my current pregnancy (20 weeks!) I am convinced it took because he helped alleviate the stress of it. Go see him; you wont regret it :)

I will recommend Kofinas. after 3 IVF on other clinic and nothing happend they never told us what was wrong with my wife. My wife decide to take her time until and wait. We talk about IVF again , but now with kofinas since my friend did IVf and they have twins we decide to try Kofinas. Doctor henry was very helpfull and answering our question now my wife is in her 15 weeks pregnant with twins thank For everything. All the staff are very professional and helpfull any question they will give you a answer.

Kofinas Fertility and especially Dr. Narine, were really amazing to work with.  My wife and I worked with Kofinas who saw us through the difficulties of infertility.  We always felt that they were looking out for us and Dr. Narine was an invaluable support for my wife through the process.
